Finally, I can come to Two Pesos steamboat restaurant at Kota Damansara. I had been passing by the restaurant many times, and only recently able to make a visit to test the food. It is a Taiwanese steamboat restaurant that has many branches within the Klang Valley area. My craving for steamboat has increased during my wife’s pregnant. Since then, whenever I see a steamboat restaurant, I would like to try.
Two Pesos steamboat restaurant banner can be seen from the main road. I like the way they draw the pot. I have thought it is from the Philippines since it contains Peso. So if you drive around Kota Damansara around the Sunway Giza area, you will see their banner even at night.
When we are inside, it is not many people even though it is lunchtime. Lucky for me because I did not like eating when during peak hours. We quickly grab a seat and browse the menu, they have an excellent design of the list, along with with price, pictures, and detailed description — big thumb for the menu designer.
I notice in our table. There are four stoves that we can use. Right enough that each person will have their pot to enjoy, plus point for this, imagine someone licked the spoon and then they use it inside the soup. Well, that picture alone is somewhat decreasing appetite.
My friend orders their classic pot. It is nicely decorated just that the bottom of it contains a lot of vegetables and bee hoon. Three pieces of meats, precisely the same picture displayed at the menu. The soup they have only one type. You need to order special soup, lemon soup, just that I never see a review that people were ordering that. The secret of enjoying this pot is, cook it with big fire until it boils, and then after that decrease the light to maintain the heat. Never add soup because it will dilute the taste. Yes, you might need to eat it a little bit fast since the soup is not much and easy to dry, so your primary focus will be the vegetables first.
This is what I order, Two Pesos stone pot. This dish is their specialist menu. They will stir-fry the meat first with garlic, onion, and then only they will put the soup base. This way will make the meat has some stir-fried aroma, although it is weak. The same tip applies, which is never add soup into the pot so that you can maintain the taste.
