I love to travel to Cameron Highland, and it just took roughly 3 hours driving from Damansara to reach Cameron highland. The only thing that I do wish is to have a good restaurant along to road! RnR restaurants are the very last options! If I am too hungry, and it is only strictly going to fast food like McDonald or KFC. Last week, I managed to find a good restaurant that local recommended. The restaurant’s name is Jin Chen, which located in Tapah town. The place is famous for the local, and during lunchtime, you can see the site packed with locals.
This place is an excellent discover so far that I encounter, and to my surprise, not many people know about this place except locals in Tapah. If you drive to Cameron Highland, you will not find any right place to lunch along the road; the best shoot is you can get banana in Lata Iskandar waterfall.
When we enter the Jin Chen restaurant, the waiter immediately recognize us that we are not from Tapah, and he gives a lot of recommendation what is specialty in his restaurant, I do really want to try lots of dishes, but since it is only three of us eating, we just order three meals, which are steam kampung chicken, fish head soup, and long bean vegetables.
When our dishes arrived, it does smell perfect, and after we say grace, we immediately start taking food, I always start with meat, which is their steam chicken. The taste is excellent and fresh, indeed lift the name of Kampung chicken. It is juicy, tender at the same time delicious. I taste a feint of Chinese rice wine, which it gives a sweet taste of chicken
The second dish is fish head soup. This one to my surprise is good, there is no fishy taste, and quite a strong feeling of cooking wine, and the saltiness is just right to enjoy without rice. The flavor does special, and so far this is the first time I drink such a taste for fish head soup. It is highly recommended to add to your choice of dish. I can say probably the most unique menu in Jin Chen restaurant.
The last is the vegetable, one bite of it. I can taste the sweet taste of it. I am guessing that these vegetables come from Cameron Highland in current conditions. It is crunchy, fresh, and they cook it just lovely, not too overcooked.
Overall this place is highly recommended if you do want to have lunch before going to Cameron highland, or before back to KL. You can find the Jin Chen restaurant location below:

When you exit the Tapah toll, turn right around 200 M, and you can see the shop lot on the right side, make a turn there, and the shop is at the corner left side.
