‘The Joy of Sharing’ is the restaurant name for the steamboat restaurant located at Kota Damansara. Last post, Ding Emperor steamboat, we talk about my wife craving for steamboat, and we are slapped with quite a high price for a dinner for two. It is raining heavily at that time, and the best food to have is steamboat. I search online in the right place to have good steamboat, and I did not require to travel pretty far, and the joy of sharing is just around 6 minutes’ drive from my house.
When I arrive there, at about 6 PM, it is not many people. I thought probably it is still early for dinner time. I like to have my dinner around 6 PM – 7 PM, one is to be slim (which the result shows the opposite way), and the other thing is I will be hungry probably around this time. I love the logo and the meaning of the place, steamboat is indeed an excellent food to share between two or more people.
We look at the menu, woow there are many choices that we can have, and what I like is the price is not expensive. The soup itself start RM 20 – RM 30 depending on what you order. Of course, the common one will be cheaper, the special one like spicy soup or rice porridge, it is quite expensive. You also can order two soup in one pot, provided the soup type is not too different except for rice porridge soup base, where you need to get one whole cup for it. What we choose is tomyam based and also sweet found. We want to have a proper meal and not exploring type. Luckily I flip until the end of the menu, where it stated that they had a setlist. I did some calculations, and their set menu is affordable with lots of choices. Immediately we decided to take one of the sets.
When the soup based come, I am half-starving, and the smell of the soup makes my craving growing — especially tom yam smell. The aroma is strong and makes my saliva drop. Good thing we order two based soup, as there are lots of vegetables on our set and plants taste better on sweet soup rather than any soup based.
The set has come; it is like what in the pictures. They give two prawns, two types of meats (I think it is pork sliced) two meatballs, and many more. What I like is there are two sets of enoki mushrooms, my favorite. Besides that, we also have some fried stuff, like a fried dumpling. I taste their fried dumplings, and it is good — fresh meat and even the proportion just excellent for steamboat. Someplace I went, the dumpling is hard to taste since they put a minimal amount of meat and wrapped with a big wrapper.
After we finish our meal, we are delighted to have such an enjoyable dinner. The soup based is good, and I did not feel very thirsty at all after dinner. The only thing that I afraid of is containing MSG, which I will feel thirsty after dinner.
Overall, my experience in this place is good. The food price is reasonable, the taste is good, and also the waiters’ response very fast on our call (whenever I need to refill my drink). So, I am saying this The Joy of Sharing steamboat is worth to mention.
