Introducing Tempting Springy Noodle From Char Siew Zhai Wantan Mee

I had been many times visiting Char Siew Zhai Wantan mee restaurant at Taman Paramount, and I think it is worth to have a review of this restaurant. It is located conveniently at Taman’s paramount garden. If you know a Giant supreme garden, it is not far from there. There is two famous wanton mee in Taman Paramount that local people often go and Char Siew Zhai is one of them.

The signboard is big and very easy to spot. Besides that, you can also easily place some crowd people during lunchtime, as many locals come here to have lunch. There are times where we also need to wait and queue, so choose the timing wisely.

The menu pretty simple and straight forward. They even pretty transparent with the price so you can order according to your budget as well. The only thing that might help is to contain some pictures of the food or putting some star or remark for restaurant special menu or chef recommendation. That way will help the first-timer to choose their food.

This is what my wife order, she wants to have Siew Youk, and her serving is typical. A regular meal is good enough for an average woman, and it comes with eight pcs of Siew Youk.

For me, I like to eat char siew, and my serving is large. I am starving, and that is why I order large. The meal is more prominent than what in my mind, too bad the char siew is fixed regardless you order medium or large.

Overall the wanton mee is outstanding. I was told that it is own made by themselves. I like the noodle a lot, but for the char siew, it is good but not outstanding enough. The softness is excellent, just that it does not have a ‘melting’ feeling when it goes to your mouth. Ah, the vegetable inside the noodle is less. From my experience dining here, I would like to give one star for this restaurant as the taste and the noodle. If they can improve the char siew and also Siew Youk taste, it will be worth two stars.

PS:

Check it out nearby pork ribs restaurant that often packs with people.
